Hopefully, Buck will get our BP back on track then. 

 

Side note: Hank Bauer (5.5 wins above average according to this) was the guy that told Don Buford he needed to stop with all the walks and start driving in more runs, or he'd lose his job. When Weaver took over from Bauer he told Buford to ignore everything Bauer told him.

Earl also gave Buford an everyday starting job instead of treating him like a sub... the result was that his 2nd half turned out way better than his 1st half...

 

Which made Curt Blefary expendable... so that winter they traded him for Mike Cuellar... which is in the running for the biggest steal ever...

Also, if I'm reading this right, Buck has a 56 WAP with BAL from 2012-2016, but only a 58.9 WAP overall for his career (through 2016). So, prior to Baltimore he performed essentially at PAR for 11 years.
