Pretty ham-fisted pun in the headline there.

Hope Justin picked up a few nifty scoring moves around the post and slashing to the basket during his time at the combine.  I'd like to see him primarily be a guy who scores attacking the hoop who happens to have range for outside shots, rather than just a spot-up 3 point shooter as he evolved into as last season went on.

IMO, best for him and obviously the Terps.

Great news.

He's staying, per school's twitter page.

I think we'll be able to replace Melo's contributions when things are running smoothly.  What I think we still lack, is someone to make plays and get us buckets when things aren't running smoothly.  Melo was the only guy who could create his own shot consistently and score tough buckets.  His efficiently dropped in those situations and he had a lot of ugly turnovers which seemed like forced shots or drives, but I still think he was drastically more reliable than anyone else on the roster we could have called upon.

Jackson certainly has the skills and the body to be able to score when we need a bucket.  Huerter also.  But having the skills and developing into the go-to-guy is not the same thing.  I'm confident that one or both of them will continue to improve and be really good as sophomores, but we still need to see it happen.

A starting 5 of Cowan, Huerter, Jackson, Fernando, and Cheko has tons of length.  Not amazing athleticism but better than we've had in a while.  Two good on-ball defenders in the backcourt, need Cheko to do a better job cleaning the glass.  Morsell, Wiley, Nickens, Bender, and Tomaic on the bench leaves a lot to be desired, unless Morsell is really strong from jump street or Wiley and Nickens remember how to play basketball.  Inside depth is a major problem, and that's assuming Cheko can remain healthy which he's never done before.

Lots of room for optimism, but it's all tied to the development of last year's freshman.  We put a lot on them last year as rookies, and going to be asking for even more as sophomores.

The Duke transfer is a bit of a wildcard. He cleaned the glass when he was healthy so that could help what was one of the biggest issues
