Yeah definitely.
I mean, that has to be the reason...tapping into Chicago.
Heard him and the AD at OK State didn't have a great relationship either

It's like being the football coach at Kentucky....

VCU's Will Wade to LSU on a six-year deal.

Also added Underwood to Illinois and Hopkins to Washington.

If I missed any major coaching openings in the OP, let me know.

Pat Kelsey to UMASS. That's a real good hire by the MInutemen.

It seems like they've done this before. Polarizing figure and out-of-the-box hire (not always a good thing). I'd probably go the more traditional coaching route. They probably want to keep it "in the family" for longevity purposes since they haven't been able to find the guy since Eddie Sutton (they literally kept it in the family after him).

Unconfirmed but Georgetown fan site Casual Hoya is reporting that JT3 will not return as head coach next season.

In a totally Georgetown move, students had already planned a protest about the state of the Georgetown basketball program for tomorrow.

JT3 has 3 regular season titles, 1 conference tourney title, and 1 final 4 in 13 years.

Christ help me if Turge is at MD for 7 more years without at least matching that resume.

UMass' press conference to introduce Pat Kelsey was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Tin foil hat me says maybe Georgetown reached out to Kelsey?

crazy, but this seems to happen a lot with guys changing their mind at the last minute.

He did fly there, so that's odd, but whatever. It'll play out.

Fun day on the old coaching carousel.

Don't be too mad at Kelsey, Bacon, he's going to be Xavier's next coach when Mack goes to Indiana. HMMMM

I'd think UMASS will look at Skerry. We'll see.

Notice Georgetown's statement called it "regretable," you know this was the day they absolutely dreaded of making the day they hired him, and even harder given that his dad is still alive.

Nonetheless, it's move that should've happened after FGCU loss and he always got a somewhat of a pass in situations Craig Escherick couldn't given his last name. It sucks and all because not only the Thompson family so interwined with the school, but because JT3 seems like a quality person. Nonetheless, this is a necessary business move.

President DiGioia did not want to make this move, as you alluded to from the quote. This move was from over his head by the board of trustees.

Cal assistant Wyking Jones has been promoted.

Also Kermit Davis signed a new 7 year, $750K per year deal with Middle Tennessee State.

EDIT: And just as I post this, MIke Boynton Jr., an assistant under Brad Underwood, was hired by OK State.

The two big ones remain open: Georgetown and Indiana.
