From Bob Harig:

A big stretch for Tiger Woods begins today with media day at Riviera. Then it's onto Torrey Pines followed by Dubai next week. After a week off, he's back at Riviera for the Genesis Open. And that will be followed by the Honda Classic. Four tournaments in five weeks ought to tell us a lot about where Tiger is – and how far he still has to go.

Such a shame what this back has done to his career.

Such a shame what this back has done to his career.

Since these problems started rolling up, I've probably been among the least optimistic about his chances to continue at a high level for a sustained period. It could be that the resurgence a few years ago was the last gasp. The main talk used to be whether/when he would pass Nicklaus for majors, and passing Snead for Tour wins (recordkeeping ambiguities aside) was considered a given. The questions for some period have been more like whether he can win anything again, or even consistently finish tournaments. That surpasses even my relatively dim view over the last several years. I thought that he might be around somewhat consistently for some time, just in a diminished fashion, and perhaps get the odd win here or there. The downfall has been just as astonishing as the rise and peak. He wants to go to Augusta, but we'll see....

The R&A and USGA seek to simplify, shake up, and speed up golf via significant changes to the rules.

Interesting. The rule book could use some tweaking to be better understood.

Wasn't mentioned but putting players in carts would be the best way to speed up rounds signficantly.

Rule change id like to see that don't include speed are that fans cant call in from their couch and issue a penalty that was missed by the official. Would love if baseball had this in the Jeffery Maier game. Players are supposed to self police, but come on. Have an extra person follow each group acting as scorekeeper and ref. Alliviate the signing the scorecard and hope you didn't make a typo thing.

These are new rules for the pro tour? I feel like every Sunday hacker already plays by most of these rules. I, for one, never let my caddy line me up before a shot.

I can't see them adopting a max score rule on tour. Everything else seems good.

Still can't believe they won't let you move a ball from a divot in the fairway.

If they are going to let every tour pro fix all marks in their line, golf is going to take forever

About that...LPGAer Lexi Thompson just lost a major in large part because of that.

Love the Masters. Visiting during the tournament would be very high on the sporting bucket list. That said, show the morning Thur and Fri rounds on tv already.

Screw it. Let's go with Phil.

Agreed.

It's not a full broadcast, but they do at least stream a morning and afternoon featured group as well as Amen Corner and 15 & 16 online.  Currently airing feature group is Hadwin, Z. Johnson, and Oosthuizen.
