Excited to see you and Cumberbundy join the board... I hope you will wind-up being regulars.

I might because of the balance between football and baseball. All we need is a massive hockey part of the site, and I'm going to be here all the time.

The few of us that are here create the illusion of a massive hockey site when it comes time for the annual Caps choke job. Lot of bitching. (I lead the charge). Welcome aboard.

I suppose if you're the bitching devil on one shoulder I'm the placating angel on the other?

For the record, go buy NHL 18, you can redo the offseason the way we would have rather. Vegas took Liam O'Brien instead of Schmidt in mine yesterday.

How did you find us? If you know others who would be a good fit, invite them.

My dad and I watch the playoffs every year together, and every year we're yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" at the TV. I just hope we win 1 and don't completely piss Ovi's career away.

I found you guys on a Baltiomre sun thread, believe it or not. The thread was talking crap about the OH about how the community over there is cancer, and how Tony-OH was the second coming of the Czar (I never had a problem with Tony, but I have heard a fair share of people who were banned from OH for dubious reasons. Then again, I didn't s&%tpost about how much the O's were going to suck, and he and my father are friends dating back to when Tony started OH. Dad worked in Frederick for the Keys at the time and they worked well together.) They recommended this website because it was run by 2 former OH mods and the community wasn't utterly full of nuts and bolts. I will recommend this site to a few people.

BTW, I didn't see a rules thread over here, so I'm going to assume it's similar to the rules on OH and not swear or go on political rants. This isn't /b/ or /pol/, and I don't want to make it that way

Dad raised me a caps fan, but worked for Comcast spectacor, who owned the Flyers. So go figure. How come you say that about DC and Philly? I'm a huge Baltimoron myself, but I'd pick DC over Philly. That and Baltimore will never get a hockey team, unless Leonsis goes full MASN on the team that moves there, and the civic center is older than dirt.

Only a couple of rules...

Occasional swearing okay...  definitely when it's emotion, "That's f'ing awesome."     Only not really acceptable when directed at a poster.. also prefer when it's not directed at a player, "He's a f'ing pos."

Short answer. They aren't in Maryland.

The caps used to play in Landover.

Gotcha. I thought the rules were similar to OH.

Hi. I'm Sam. I had been posting on the Sun Ravens board for 8 years until a recent personal attack on one of the sweetest, nicest female posters there got me outraged. I, along with another Sun board poster, JamesDean, reported the posts and while the posts were removed, the poster wasn't banned. That was the last straw for me. So JamesDean sent me a link to this board and I joined.

I can sum up my key positions as follows:

1. I am an unapologetic Joe Flacco apologist. Of all the problems the Ravens have, and they have plenty, he's about the last on my list of main primary problems. And that includes his cap hit. Look at the $40M cap hit from dead cap money spent on IR'd players and players that aren't even here and then tell me how his cap hit is the main reason the Ravens don't have other good players on the team.

2. I believe that Ozzie Newsome has been killing this team for years and needs to be replaced.

3. I believe that John Harbaugh has been killing this team for years and needs to be replaced.

4. I believe that Pat Moriarty has been killing the team for years and needs to be replaced.

5. Ultimately Steve Bisciotti is responsible for this mess because, as he stated in last year's State of the Ravens dog and pony show address, he favors "continuity". Well, he sure has that. Continuous mediocrity. Sub .500 record since the super bowl, and that's WITH the padded stats of the one year Gary Kubiak was here. And Bisciotti is the only one with the power to make the necessary changes, yet he refuses to do so. Maybe as the empty seats become more and more visible, he'll change his tune. That appears to be the only thing that might cause him to reverse course. Then again, maybe not. He makes money regardless, like the rest of the NFL owners.

6. I think Joe has some issues, but they're at the bottom of my list. I can't think of any other QB who could come into this total shit show of an offense and do significantly better. Newsome has relegated the offense to the back burner, particularly the O-line, since forever. Yes, he's brought in a tackle or guard, and he drafted J.O., but over the course of 20 years he has failed to either draft or procure a legitimate #1 wide receiver. I'm not talking about possession type receivers like Mason, or even the end-of-his-career Steve Smith. I'm talking about an A.J. Green, or an Antonio Brown, or a Julio Jones, or a Calvin Johnson, or a Randy Moss, etc. Not one in 20 years, either through the draft or via free agency. It's unacceptable to the max, and so is his inattention to the O-line woes. I think he's needed to be gone for at least 5 years or more. But hey...that's just me.

7. I wasn't offended by the whole "taking the knee", although I wasn't particularly impressed either. To me, it was a non-issue. For other folks, it was a huge issue. I recognize that and don't mean to trivialize it for anyone who felt highly offended. I just wasn't.

Always great to see some new blood!

Well...if it's blood you want, then it's blood you shall have!!

LOL

J/K. JamesDean is a much more reasonable poster than I am. I'm more cantankerous. But I gotta tell you...the Ravens have drained me of my fighting spirit. I just can't summon up the energy any more to really care. So probably not so much blood any more. I've lived through the Boller Wars, and the Billick Wars. Now, I'm just content to talk Ravens football with other Ravens fans.
