If Mayweather loses I'm convinced it is because he took a dive. There is just no other way. BTW I don't doubt this is going to be a huge fight but I don't see the extraordinary hype and we are less than a week out. Maybe it picks up this week but it feels it should have been bigger to this point.

If he loses, he gets another match and another huge payday.

He won't take a dive. Too much pride to be undefeated, 50-0. I'm with Nickle. Bet the house on Floyd. The 8 oz gloves, partying every night until the fight, talking up Conor's chances just screams confidence that he can win while giving these concessions.

An undefeated boxer who's one of the greatest of all time is boxing a guy who's never had a professional boxing match before and the line is -400. You'll never find a better deal in sports betting. At least not on a favorite.

It's like Bryce Harper signing with a cricket team and people expecting him to perform at the same level in a similar but wholly different sport.

Chael Sonnen made a good point when discussing this fight. Everyone talks about Connors power and 1 punch knockout ability. There is no disputing the power but Sonnen noted that Connor only has 1 KO in his career. The majority of his finishes have been TKO. He rocks a guy then is able to step in immediately and finish via refs stoppage. Even if he rocks Floyd, Floyd is going to be able to go down and get a 10 count. That TKO is harder to get in boxing.

I am so tempted to bet on McGregor with the thought that this fight ends up being a sham.

Too much pride for Floyd to take a dive. He loses to Connor he loses his legacy. He let's down the whole boxing community. Plus Vegas casinos lose money. There is just no reason to fear a sham here. The closer this gets the more I believe Floyd doesn't just win but gets the TKO

The only reason for him to do it is because a rematch means more money and he is all about his money.

I would hope he doesn't do it but it wouldn't shock me.

So are you guys saying that if McGregor catches him and knocks him out, there's no way you'd believe it was legit?

I can't say that. I mean, Mayweather hasn't fought in a while, he's likely not taking this fight as seriously as he should and he's older. In other words, he could make an uncharacteristic mistake.

But if people who actually follow boxing sit there and tell me it looked like he took a dive based off of how it happened, I'm inclined to believe those that are experts and follow the sport.

My point is that I could see him do that because of his money (tax) issues and the fact that he loves money.

That's fair. I kinda hate this fight because of this though. I have a feeling there will always be people who question the legitimacy of any McGregor win.

Not impossible but very improbable. I just dont see how it happens. I think the point Chael made is a great one. Even if he catches Floyd with a punch it's still not likely to be a KO punch. Has only done it once in the UFC with smaller gloves.

You could argue that UFC guys are tougher and McGregor normally fights at a higher weight class, so that could
impact this as well.

Be interesting to see who buys the fight, or supports a business that buys the fight tonight.

I won't be buying the fight... but I certainly won't judge those who do.

I don't find either guy all that appealing, but I do find them interesting.  I'm not a boxing or MMA fan, but I do find this whole event interesting.

I'll be watching at a friend's house... dress rehearsal, grilling wise, for College Football next Saturday.

Who cares?

I don't mean that say your question sucks but boxing is dead. It doesn't have much of a future regardless of the outcome.

Hell, it may be better for the sport if he loses.
